This beaded cuff bracelet is a reflection on the warmth and solitude of water, the growth of healthy marine life, and the glitter of a cresting wave. “Solace” evokes a feeling of strength in solitude, and the comfort found in the rhythmic crash of ocean surf.
The focal piece is genuine green sea glass collected from the beach in Barbados, which seems to glow from within when struck by sunlight. The sea glass is complemented by abalone shell pieces, faceted amazonite, and aventurine gemstone beads. Each side of the bracelet has a variation on the same spiraling shape created in seed beads and bugle beads, with these repeating motifs surrounded by flowing lines in green, turquoise, and warm shell pink. The bracelet has been finished with a white deerskin leather lining.
“Solace” is mounted on a 6” aluminum bracelet blank. It has an inner diameter of 6 cm, and an opening gap of nearly 3 cm. There is some slight give to the cuff’s C-shape curve, but this bracelet is not meant to be widened or tightened to avoid damage.
