Blue and fuchsia stud earrings
$60.00
These handmade bead embroidered earrings are really something special, with their bold patterns in blue, fuchsia, and turquoise. Like almost all of my beadwork, this pair is entirely one-of-a-kind and won't be duplicated.
The center focal cabochons are handcrafted from polymer clay, and topped with artist quality resin for a shiny, mirror-perfect finish. The cabochons feature an abstract pattern in blue, turquoise, pale green, and bright purple, with just a touch of shimmer. The beadwork uses high-quality Japanese seed beads (Miyuki and Toho brands) in size 11/0 and 15/0 and faceted purple crystal beads for just the right amount of sparkle.
The beadwork is backed by buttery soft 100% Canadian leather, which provides the piece with strength and durability, as well as ensuring the earrings wear comfortably against your skin. I buy my leather as scrap offcuts from a local business, saving even these small pieces of hide from the waste stream while providing my customers with top quality leather. The leather used in this pair is a gorgeous rich purple.
Lightweight and easy to wear, these earrings provide big impact without the weight or uncomfortable pull on your ears. I've used hypoallergenic earring posts made from implant grade ASTM F67 titanium, which is nickel-free and better for most sensitive ears than sterling silver. The posts have been paired with a wide, comfort-fit push backing. The earring post is also set behind the leather backing (not glued or stitched on top), providing greater durability and comfort during wear.
Dimensions: 3.5 cm long x 3 cm wide (approx. 1 3/8” long x 1 1/8” wide).
Weight: Each stud is 4 grams, including backing.
