This beautiful statement necklace has been entirely handcrafted. I've used a range of different bead colours and finishes to give this luna moth realistic detail, depth, and dimension. The wings use primarily silver-lined beads in a gradient of shades, which shimmer and shine in the light. The way this piece lights up in the sun is just stunning!
The necklace has aventurine gemstone beads and metallic silver seed beads strung on a braided beading wire, and is finished with a sterling silver clasp and sterling silver extender chain. The silver beads are Miyuki brand Duracoat beads, which is a more expensive type of bead with an extra coating to ensure the durability of the beads' metallic finish.
The luna moth pendant is backed by recycled 100% Canadian deerskin leather. This buttery-smooth leather provides the piece with strength and durability, and is soft and comfortable if worn directly against the skin. The leather used for this piece is aqua.
